Columbus Water Works Provides Additional Payment Arrangement Options and Waives Delinquent Charges on Past Due Accounts
As many people in our community are struggling due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we want our customers to know that we are here to help.  Columbus Water Works (CWW) has established additional payment arrangement options to assist customers with their account balance.  Customers who establish payment arrangements will be able to keep their account in a “current” status, while paying on their past due amount.  In addition to offering additional payment arrangement options, we have extended the waiver of the $50 delinquent charge until July 31, 2020. 

It is extremely important that customers make payment on their account and/or contact a representative to establish payment arrangements to avoid non-payment disconnection, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 8, 2020.

We encourage customers to take advantage of our customer service email option (customerservice@cwwga.org) and our new call back feature to limit your wait time on the phone.  We anticipate a high volume of calls over the next several weeks as our community is transitioning to standard operations, which may increase wait times.

If you prefer to visit our office in person, we have implemented the following safety measures to limit possible COVID-19 exposure:
  • Only 5 customers are permitted in the building at a time.
  • Everyone must wear a facemask in order to enter the building.
  • Everyone will have their temperature screened. People with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be permitted to enter the building.
  • Customers are asked to check-in at the check-in station to secure their place in line and asked to wait in their vehicle until they are called to enter the building.
If you do not have a facemask or prefer not to enter the customer lobby, we are also providing customer account assistance and accepting payments through the drive-thru. These measures are subject to change, pending the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For those in our community who are experiencing financial hardship and need additional assistance, there are community resources available. One great resource is the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.  Simply call 211, United Way’s hotline designed to connect people in need with available resources.

As we continue to battle this virus, we urge the community to continue to follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing, wear face masks, if possible, and practice good hygiene.

Columbus Water Works will continue to monitor situational updates provided by the Center for Disease Control, as well as other local, state and federal organizations. We are regularly evaluating the situation and latest developments to determine how we can adopt and amend measures, as necessary, to support our customers, the community we serve, and our employees.
